Founder Story
Ariro was founded as organically as a toy start-up can begin. Before the founding of Ariro Toys, Nisha Ramasamy, and Vasanth Tamilselvan, a Chennai couple, began realising the absurd statistics regarding the phenomenon of infants swallowing plastic from their toys during playtime. They wished to make toys for their infant daughter themselves in order to shield her from the plague of plastic in the Indian toy market. So, they got to working on some designs that they built for their daughter to enjoy and hired a carpenter to materialise those designs into reality. This proactive decision comes as no surprise as Vasanth Tamilsevan has an educational background in social work, and Nisha Ramasamy was an attentive Montessori teacher.
After seeing their daughter fall in love with their toy designs, they decided to share the joy with their friend circles in private. They were met with huge success! After realising that they had stumbled across something that was the need of the hour, they stepped into their roles as conscious modern parents who made toys for other conscious parents. By the end of 2020, Ariro Toys had quickly become a growing brand known for producing dynamic, high quality, and versatile wooden toys for Indian children all across the country to play with.
